How to make your computer Boot quicker

Many users get annoyed with their computer because it takes so long for it to load, so here is a simply guide to increase boot time.

1. Open up MSCONFIG by using run or searching for it in the Vista Start Search. If you are an XP user, open up the run dialog box (it should be on the start menu, otherwise it is in programs --> accessories) and type 'msconfig'.

2. Click on the startup tab and untick any programs that you don’t want to load when Windows starts.

3. If you have a multi-core processor, click on the boot tab, advance, click on the check box for Number of processors and click your number as seen in the picture below.

4. Click on OK, and restart you computer. When Windows reloads, a message box will appear, click on the check box to not show the message on boot again.

 

You computer should now boot up much quicker.
